In some ways the profession of fundraising is experiencing challenges like never before – declining number of households giving to charities, continuing declines in donor retention, and higher pressure to raise more money as demand for services increases. In other ways, these opportunities are tests of the grounding principles of our profession and point us to investing in a trust-based, ethical approach to our work of empowering and enabling generosity. In this session we will look at the current trends in context of the Connection Economy and understanding what today’s donors expect and need from us through the lens of the reciprocal relationship between trust and ethics.
